Beyond Your Website: Marketing a Business, Service, or Yourself

by A. Bornhoft

Most businesses on and offline struggle with effective marketing, despite the fact that their products or services are top notch. The following tips can help businesses, people selling their hobby (musicians, artists, etc), and home businesses market online.

Certain words are “power words” in the English language. These words tend to consistently draw the readers attention. Learn to incorporate these words in your articles and adds. They include but are not limited to: secret, guaranteed, money, new, easy, and free. For a more comprehensive list and more tips on add writing, check out this article by: Clicking Here

Knowing where to put your adds or articles is critical to your success. There are thousands of “free” advertising sites. Some work better than others. But a more effective use of your marketing time is better served by consistently contributing to ezines, blogs, and other social networking sites. This allows you to build relationships which is a key to success.

Ezines are online magazines that have a targeted audience, like the one you are reading now. You can find an ezine for almost every topic, music, art, business, etc. Subscribe to several that fit your interest or business. Ask yourself if there are topics that you can cover that aren’t normally covered. Do you have a tip that would help someone else? Then write about it and submit it to your favorite ezines.

A form of highly targeted traffic can be obtained through google adsense. But, if you don’t know what you are doing, it can be costly or you could end up being last in line to a zillion other advertisers. Contact me for some tips. My contact info is found below.

The saying “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care” applies online as in life. Your tone in your articles and blogs should show that you care for more than your bottom line.

I love learning to market on the web because I know dreams can materialize if you know how to get your product or service out there. For example, an awesome guitar player can have a web page but no advertising skills so he/she won’t get much traffic. If you have a few tips, you can drive thousands to your website and your dream of making money with your hobby can begin to unfold. My online business has taught me how to do that.
