Ab Fat Risk And Reduction

by Sean Cavanaugh

People around the world are dying because they carry around excess fat. That excess fat causes many problems which lead to their deaths. What does this have to do with abs. Excess ab fat is one of the most lethal fats in the body.

You want to have abs that you can be proud of. You want to walk down to the pool and rip of your shirt to expose the abdominal muscles of your dreams. Before you do that you should know the health risk associated with continuing to carry around that ab fat of yours. This way when you are ready to give up you will know there is much more at stake that just appearances.

Apart from your ab muscles there are two fat types that make up the abdominal region. Although both are risky one is extremely dangerous to your health.

Subcutaneous fat is the layer of fat just underneath the skin. This subcutaneous fat accounts for about 80% of the fat in your body. This is the fat that is often measured by fitness trainers using body calipers to determine your body fat percentage. Although you may have strong ab muscles they are often never seen because of this layer of fat.

The organs of our bodies are protected by a layer of fat called visceral fat. When an excess of this fat surrounds the organs it becomes a serious health issue. This fat often shows itself in the belly of men, and the hips and butt of women. Although these areas have flabby subcutaneous fat the visceral fat usually has a hard feeling to it. As when you push a mans belly and it really doesn’t sink in.

Science has shown that visceral fat is much worse than subcutaneous fat. Although both are a health and cosmetic issue.

Inflammatory diseases affect most people at some point in their life. Among them are cancer, alzheimer’s, arthritis, asthma, and heart disease. Research has shown obesity to play a major role in these diseases. Visceral fat is a major driving force, releasing excess amount of inflammatory messengers. In the proper balance these messengers are the key to our immune system. In excess they slowly destroy the body.

If all your looking to do is reduce your ab fat and create a tight toned midsection so you look fantastic then that’s great. However, now that you know the health risk involved you can use that as motivation to stay focused and succeed. You will not only look great on the outside, but your inside will be looking great too.

It’s not just enough to know the dangerous health risk of excess abdominal fat. If you don’t know where to start you can waste a lot of time. I don’t want to leave you at the mercy of every ab reduction fad that comes along. Learn some tried and true workout and diet keys (not the age old sit-ups, crunches, and cardio) and you can find success.

You know you want to develop incredible abs. However, you can’t do what everybody else is doing. Most of the people you see doing thousands of sit-ups and hours of cardio fail to ever develop abs of steel. Then there are the people you know who have started and given up. Why do people fail to follow through with their goals of healthy abs? Why don’t people follow proven workout and nutritional plans?

It is no longer about whether you want to rip off your shirt and have others drool over your abs. I want that to happen for you, but as you have seen there are serious health issues involved as well. So stay focused and never give up. Your body will thank you for it.
