Feeling Things Out

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008
by Dick Ingersoll

We all have a built in mechanism for identifying when the people and things around us is ultimately good or bad for the life we desire. Most of us pay no attention to this system, or are not aware of it, or even utilize it without even knowing it. This method is our intuition, and it is fully functional in all of us. We just need to take a moment to reconnect to it.

Of course, instinctual abilities may greatly decrease with the introduction of emotional obstacles in our energy bodies. The more closed off from the world each of us are, the less able we may be to use this ability. You need to keep your energy open, so that you can honestly experience what I’m explaining to you.

Thursday, August 28th, 2008
by Dick Ingersoll

There are no unique tricks to meditating; no unique posture or breathing pattern is required. Once you have got it down you are able to meditate in any location during any activity. Some people have been successful in obtaining this altered state of conscious while reading about my sand meditation; possibly you too may realize this altered state of consciousness as you read on

Occasionally meditation brings light to the mysteries of design. If we permit ourselves to enter into this door there is no telling what we may encounter on the other side. Do not let yourself be put off if you have attempted to meditate in the past and not gotten a great outcome. Meditation is a fantastical process and it may take some time to figure out how to quiet your mind and open yourself to all the current moment has to offer you.

Meditation Techniques for Children With Behavior Problems

Thursday, August 28th, 2008
by Maxwell Maseko

If you would like to get rid of pain, I give you a few pointers on how to go about it by using yoga and meditation techniques. The great thing is that they are not terribly difficult to do nor are they tough to pick up or to follow on a regular basis. Today, all over the world and amongst all cultures, this ancient healing and stress relieving discipline is becoming popular among all ages. Contemplation is what meditation is all about and you get to that inside space by focusing on a thought or object or activity till all is calm and peaceful inside you.

You can meditate with the accompaniment of chanting or maybe music - you could even do it with absolute silence. The focus could be on some object close by or you could focus on the breaths that you take as they go in and out of your body. No matter what the approach used, a quiet environment and a fixed uninterrupted time span will be required. Next, you are going to select the object that you want to focus on, like a certain phrase or word or maybe even your breath or a physical object, then you will should yourself into a comfortable position - not supine or you might fall asleep. The main goal is to master a mindfulness state, where you are able to be completely aware of everything that is going on around you, but you are detached from all of your immediate surroundings, similar to a light state of trance. Generally people experience the limited Alpha State. In the two deeper states, however, the mind becomes progressively more tranquil and still.

How to use the toothbrush

by Ahsan Mirza

Once you have your toothbrush, put the bottom edge at a forty-five degree angle to your gums and brush in an “up and down” motion on both the inner and outer surfaces of the tooth. The objective here is not to brush your gums, just your teeth. Of course, get the top surfaces as well. Use the tip of the brush to get the inner surfaces of the front teeth, and finish by brushing your tongue. This last step seriously helps in removing halitosis and cavity causing bacteria.

A New Way to Alter Consciousness- Stare at the Wall

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008
by Lorelei F

I recently came across a new tool for my toolbox of ways to alter consciousness, and I will tell you about it. I give credit for this to my good friend Martin, and in case you are reading, Martin, let me know if I get it right.

We all know that out of all of the ways to alter consciousness, meditation is one of the most powerful. It can put you into an altered and peaceful state. In this walking/staring meditation, designed to bring forth your creative juices toward a task, you begin by walking near the water or in nature. As you walk, you consciously feel yourself at one with the water, a leaf, a blade of grass, etc. etc.

Creating New Experiences through Meditation

Sunday, August 17th, 2008
by Dick Ingersoll

How can you change what you believe when the experiences you have endured has convinced you otherwise? The simple answer to that is to design a new experience. The best way for you to achieve that new experience is to meditate about how you can change the way you respond to what occurs. The new response will create new benefits, which you will then experience as a new reality.

To achieve your goal of happiness, you have to behave as though the following statement is true: All that happens to me is the best thing that can happen to me. Meditating to help turn a bad situation into something good can be as easy as: 1+ 1 = 2. Acting as though what happens to you is the best thing that can happen to you plus the new benefits just equal happiness in your life.

A Real Runner’s High: Integrating Running, Yoga and Meditation

Saturday, August 9th, 2008
by Eric Cech

We’ve all heard about, or even experienced ourselves, the Runner’s High: a pleasant euphoria of endorphin-induced bliss. This is the exhilarating feeling of really taking care of our bodies, hearts and minds. Though the feeling is somewhat fleeting — a few hours after the exercise session and the feeling wanes. Well, what if there were ways to extend that feeling, perhaps indefinitely, and maybe deepen it to become a more profound experience of happiness and joy? Many individuals are finding the combined disciplines of exercise, yoga asana, and meditation can lead to this result.

A little about each discipline: Any somewhat vigorous exercise will do, not just running. Running, however, is exceptionally convenient — put on a pair of shoes and get out the door. It can be done in nearly any condition at any time. Trail running even gets you out into nature for a time, maybe offering a more fulfilling experience. The vigorous exercise improves many, many measurable conditions of our bodies; the result being a positive effect on our overall health and wellbeing.
