In today’s busy world, many of us rarely eat as well as we should. Then consider that so much of our foods are processed in ways that remove many of their natural nutrients. It’s no wonder that that it is necessary to take vitamins and supplements in the form of a pill. However, it anyone is going to consume many vitamins, you should always check first with your doctor. He may wish to perform a LSI, or liver somatic index occasionally to monitor your liver’s health. While vitamins can be beneficial, they can also be harmful. Sometimes, they can put undo strain on a person’s liver, especially in taken in large doses or the wrong combination. The liver is the filter of the body. Much of what we consume, or put into our bodies, has to eventually travel through our liver. The liver removes harmful and waste products and disposes of it. Therefore, it is important to keep our liver healthy. We cannot have a healthy body without a healthy liver. This can easily be seen in people who have consumed too much alcohol. In those cases, the liver is destroyed and can no longer process contaminants as they should. Eventually, the body will become ill and fail. So it is important not to overburden the liver and to help it do it’s job. So before consuming many vitamins, always check with your doctor. He can tell you which vitamins your body really needs and which vitamins it doesn’t. This will not only save you wasting money on vitamins you don’t need, but will also keep you from harming your body. Your doctor will also be able to tell you which vitamins may interact harmfully with any medications you may be taking. He will also be able to perform certain laboratory tests to determine how well your body is reacting to the vitamins. Most importantly, he will be able to perform a LSI to ensure that you do not damage your liver.
