It may be strange advice to tell someone who needs to get in shape to buy a Wii. The funny thing, though,is that this is now good advice. With the Wii Fit game available, exercise can be fun. This game has sold over five million units, and it’s no wonder. Combining health tracking, aerobics, Yoga, and strength training capabilities, it truly is more than a game.

Necessary to perform its weight measurements, is the Wii Balance Board. This is the hardware unit sold in conjunction with the Wii Fit software component. It resembles a house scale and is used to measure various statistics. These include center of gravity, weight, and body mass index. Wii Fit Balance Boards in the United States can hold people up to 330 pounds.

You can use the information gathered on the Balance Board in conjunction with the Wii Fit software to keep track of your health. This system is the Wii Fitness Age. It uses your age, weight, and athletic ability to determine your fitness “age,” or ranking. The great thing about the Wii Fit is that your personal health information can be secured from other users via a pin number.

If you are having problems with various moves, you can utilize the 3-D demo option. With this option, you can view the move performed by a virtual trainer. Changing angles and viewpoints allows you to see the finer points of the techniques. With this option, you can ensure you are correctly performing the activities.

Strength training is another feature of the Wii Fit. It incorporates leg and arm extensions, lunges, squats, and push-ups for a varied work-out regimen. Other activities that you can try include parallel stretches, jackknife challenges, and plank challenges. This would be a great tool for a high school athlete, or any athlete for that matter!

Balance and strength training are two other choices. Various activities exist for each option. Balancing activities include snowboarding and skiing challenges, tightrope walking, and the Balance Bubble activity. With strength training, you can experience push-up challenges, leg and arm extensions, and stretching.
