Send a Mothers Day Gift
Have you ever forgotten an important event? You maybe had the feeling something was coming up, but didn’t quite remember what it was? And the next thing you know, it’s Mother’s Day and you didn’t even send a card? I never have, either. But I’ll bet it’s happened to someone you know. What would you tell them to do to fix it?
Flowers are an easy gift to arrange on short notice. It is important, though, to give it a twist. Remember that on Mother’s Day flowers should say “I’m thinking of you”, so red roses are not appropriate, unless they are your mother’s favorite flowers
Pansies, daisies, carnations, violets, honeysuckles, lilies, daffodils, and other similar, simple but elegant flowers are good Mothers Day flowers. Look for flower arrangements that offer a mix of several complementary colors and types of flowers. If you don’t have as much a sense of these things as you’d like, look for a bouquet that seems to be all one piece, without being just one type of flower.
How can you get the flowers at the last minute? It depends on your situation. If your mother lives nearby you can pick them up at the florist’s. When distance is an issue, you can order the flowers online. It works; ordering flower delivery is very reliable when done through the internet.
An online florist will be able to channel your order directly to a greenhouse grower to your mom’s house or to a shop local to your mother to get her the flowers the same day. But beware, ordering at the last minute on holidays with large demand for flowers (like Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day), prices are going to be much higher than usual. I suppose you can consider it penance for having forgotten Mother’s Day.
If Mother’s Day is coming soon, and you have a friend who doesn’t know what he should give his mother for her special day, you will now have some good advice to pass along. Of course, if you need to get a gift for your own mother, you will now know where to get Mother’s Day flowers that are certain to please her, whatever her tastes may be.
