Flower girls are likely not experienced in posture and walking techniques to reduce a tripping disaster. Don’t go with a floor length gown just because everyone else’s gown is that long. Keeping the hemline above her shoes can be a disaster avoider if she is especially young (or a tomboy at any age).
Sometimes when shopping for flower girl dresses with the entire wedding party in tow, a little girl may not feel like she can say what feels too tight or too loose. Too tight becomes miserably uncomfortable once the actual big day rolls around. And too loose could become a safety pinning emergency minutes before the trip down the aisle. Be sure to see an alterations specialist to ensure that the dress is properly fitted so there will be no wedding day mishaps.
A flower girl gown can be fun to choose from and a great opportunity to make a favorite little girl in your life feel special. Throwing practicality to the wind and ignoring comfort will only set the stage for a mid-ceremony meltdown. Be thoughtful of the venue, the style and the appropriateness for the occasion when selecting from the many flower girl dresses available.
