Golfers who really know their golf are well aware that there is no better place in the whole world to golf than Myrtle Beach. Also called the “Grand Strand”, Myrtle Beach is sixty miles long, running from Pawley’s Island in South Carolina to Sunset Beach in North Carolina. This is a place which has far more than golf to offer. However, golf is the dominant activity for vacationers here due to the presence of more than 90 golf courses, golf schools, pro shops and the many other amenities located on the beach which draw people on golfing vacations from all over the world. There are many different Myrtle Beach golf packages available; you can also choose to bring the whole family to this seaside paradise.
There’s a wide variety of golf courses in Myrtle Beach - these include low country and links; you can golf in many different settings on a single golfing vacation. There are courses which are located on bluffs overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Intra Coastal Waterway. These courses offer challenges like ocean winds - a delight to the experienced golfer who likes a tough course. Myrtle Beach is also home to nine of the 100 best golf courses in the country - Tidewater, Heritage, Barefoot Fazio, Barefoot Love, Caledonia, Tigers Eye, True Blue, Rivers Edge and Myrtle Beach Kings North. All nine are ranked in the top hundred public courses by no less an authority than Golf Digest. There are courses on the Grand Strand which are perfect for experienced and novice golfers alike. Since there are simply so many courses in the area, you can play one course in the morning and another in the afternoon easily! The only hard part is deciding which courses to play first; you may have to come back again and again. Remember to book early during the peak spring season, a lot of the golf courses are booked up during this time.
