Golfers who really know their golf are well aware that there is no better place in the whole world to golf than Myrtle Beach. Also called the “Grand Strand”, Myrtle Beach is sixty miles long, running from Pawley’s Island in South Carolina to Sunset Beach in North Carolina. This is a place which has far more than golf to offer. However, golf is the dominant activity for vacationers here due to the presence of more than 90 golf courses, golf schools, pro shops and the many other amenities located on the beach which draw people on golfing vacations from all over the world. There are many different Myrtle Beach golf packages available; you can also choose to bring the whole family to this seaside paradise.
You will find several different types of golf courses in Myrtle Beach area, including low country and links, which you can experience in just one vacation trip. There are other courses that are set on bluffs that overlook the Intra Coastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean. These courses will also require that you learn how to deal with winds that sweep in from the ocean and add extra challenge to already demanding courses. The Grand Strand is home to nine of the top one hundred public golf courses in the United States. Caledonia, Tidewater, Heritage, Barefoot Love, Barefoot Fazio, Rivers Edge, Tigers Eye, Myrtle Beach Kings North and True Blue are all ranked in the top one hundred public golf courses by Golf Digest. Whether you are an experienced and seasoned golfer or learning the game, there are more than enough courses to challenge and accommodate every level and style of golfer. The proximity of certain courses makes it easy to play one course with a morning tee time and finish up the afternoon at a totally different location. The hardest decision you will have to make is deciding which courses to play and which you will have to come back for on another day. During the peak spring season many of the courses get booked solid, so you may want to make your vacation plans early.
