If you’re searching for Ninja swords, you would be happy to know that there are several high-quality swords available on the internet. This is good news for those collecting various kinds of Ninja swords since you don’t have to go to novelty stores or even travel to far-off Japan to be able to locate some of the most authentic Ninja swords today.

Whether the swords are actually for your set or you are a Ninja wannabe who wants a real Ninja sword, you can find whatever type of sword you wish to have over the internet. Now, if you are only starting to get interested in these Japanese swords, you will find a bit of data about them as well, online.

NINJA SWORDS ONLINE

With a bit of research, you can get to know more about the different kinds of Ninja swords to help you in deciding which ones you’d like to purchase, whether as a gift or for yourself; especially if you are learning Martial Arts.

There are unique designs that make each type even more interesting. Take for instance an exceptional kind of Ninja sword that has a dragon symbol carved in its blade. This is especially interesting because there has been a long-standing link between the dragon and Ninjas and this will truly make you feel more of a Ninja than anything else.

There are naturally the traditional Ninja swords perfect for your sword collection. Generally, these are made of alloy thus they have a an authentic feel than any kind of steel sword. There are also those with tassels if you want to accessorize a bit.

PURCHASING NINJA SWORDS ON THE INTERNET

On the other hand, before you actually make a purchase, you should check the background of these online stores that provide Ninja swords. Others assert that what they offer are authentic; which you would be disappointed to learn later on that they are mediocre copycats – not even acceptable as an authentic replica, if there is such a thing.

You should likewise check the return guidelines of these online shops so you can easily send back the Ninja sword if you are dissatisfied with it. But overall, you’ll find that a few of these websites do have genuine Ninja swords or copies that look so real you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference at first glance.

Expect to look for more about ninja swords, then take a look at Tiger Claire’s page on how to opt for the best ninja swords for your needs.

The Israeli military’s official self defense system is called Krav Maga. A method of hand to hand combat that was born from the need to have an easy, effective method of self defense that could be quickly learned by any solider, without having to undergo years of martial arts training.

Created by Imi Lichtenfeld during world war two in Czechoslovakia, Imi developed his system as a way for the Jews to protect themselves. After the war, he continued to fine tune these techniques until it was officially adopted as the self defense system for the Israeli military and police forces.

What Makes Krav Maga so easy to learn? There are no kata’s, no Dojo rules and none of the Budo Mumbo Jumbo so often associated with traditional martial arts. Instead Krav Maga uses techniques that have proven themselves time and time again to be effective on both the street and on the battlefield.

Anyone can learn Krav Maga, but if youre lacking in physical fitness youre going to find the classes very intense. Krav Maga classes are typically built around a lot of cardio, and they continually drill self defense techniques over and over again until you just want to quit. It’s not uncommon to test your skills against 3 or 4 opponents until you are able to perform the techniques with ease and skill.

The main idea is to solidfy these techniques under high stress and fatigue until you can perform the moves flawlessly and without hestitation and thinking. It’s this kind of training that sets Krav Maga apart from other martial arts systems.

To learn more and to see some live techniques in action, come by and visit our site. There you will learn more about this reality based combat system and hopefully you will be inspired to want to learn Krav Maga today.

Brock Lesnar is now the biggest PPV attraction in mixed martial arts, and has brought a large following of new fans who have the mistaken impression that he’s ‘unbeatable’. Before his past two fights many were questioning whether his credentials justified giving him a shot at the title, with some even unfairly comparing him to EliteXC YouTube sideshow attraction Kimbo Slice. In the aftermath of Lesnars UFC 100 victory the new question surrounding the former WWE champion has become who can beat this guy? Lesnar definitely is a freaky physical specimen combining size and strength with speed and agility. Hes also progressing by leaps and bounds as a fighter with every bout. Still, hes got a big deficit in experience to make up on the job as UFC heavyweight champion.

Lesnar is no doubt a tough matchup, but he’s been the beneficiary of very favorable matchups in his short professional career. Lesnar has made amazing progress as a fighter, but he’s not unbeatable. Here’s fight fighters who could do it.

1) FEDOR EMELIANENKO: While the acrimonious relationship between the Russian fighting god and the UFC brass makes this matchup unlikely, Brock Lesnar made news with his dismissal of Fedor at the press conference welcoming Couture back to the fold. The best news for Lesnar in this matchup is that it probably wont happen. The Last Emperor is as close to unbeatable as anyone in mixed martial arts. Fedor has defeated not only bigger opponents, but freakishly large opponents like K-1 kickboxer Hong-Man Choi and Kamala the Ugandan Giant doppelganger Zuluzhinho (whom he beat in a matter of seconds, essentially with one punch). The WAMMA World Heavyweight champion has striking power, submission mastery, and may be the toughest fighter mentally in the sport. Fedor might get taken down by the new UFC heavyweight champ, but hed reverse it from the bottom and win via armbar.

2) ANTONIO RODRIGO NOGUEIRA: Nogueira would present Lesnar with another formidable challenge. His five career losses are all via decision and came to the absolute highest level of competition (Fedor Emelianenko twice, Frank Mir, Josh Barnett and Dan Henderson). The Mir fight was a lopsided loss, but it was later revealed that he had been recovering from a staph infection that limited his training and clearly impacting his conditioning. His ability to withstand punishment and take a punch allows him to be patient against powerful opponents and wait for an opening for a submission, as evidenced in his fight against Tim Sylvia. A healthy ‘Nog’ would be able to test Lesnar’s ability to ‘finish’ matches and would be an even more dangerous submission threat than Mir.

3) JOSH BARNETT: Barnett is another unlikely opponent for Lesnar, also due to his strained relationship with Dana White and current issues with his positive drug test. Barnett also has a solid wrestling background, with the added dimension of his sizable submission repertoire. As his career has progressed, Barnett has become a more patient and tactically sound fighter and his standup game has improved significantly. Unfortunately for MMA fans, a matchup between Lesnar and Barnett is more likely to happen in an IGF pro wrestling event than in the UFC.

4) ALISTAIR OVEREEM: Overeem is actually bigger than Lesnar”260 pounds and 65 tall–and has compiled a 5-1-1 record in his last seven fights. Mirko Cro Cop suggests that hes the *only* fighter in the world who could beat Fedor Emelianenko at this point. Hes got great standup including a kickboxing background that could cause Lesnar problems, as well as solid ground fighting ability. Hes yet another heavyweight that is unlikely to bend to Dana Whites contractual demands, and currently has a relationship with DREAM in Japan and Strikeforce in the US. Still, hes a dangerous matchup for any fighter on the planet. Hopefully, his recent hand injury will recover sufficiently to allow him back into competition quickly.

5) RANDY COUTURE: Lesnars win over Couture was far from decisive, and it didnt have anything to do with the age disparity. Couture got caught with a big shot and it cost him the fight. Until that point, he was more than holding his own. He was making his opponent work hard, had the edge in the striking exchanges and had opened up a cut over Lesnars right eye. Itll never be a favorable physical matchup on paper for Couture but at the same time Lesnar in no way proved his categorical superiority over The Natural

Lesnars next challenge is likely to be the winner of the Cain Velesquez/Shane Carwin match. Both are big, rugged competitors but are also beatable opponents for Lesnar. An intriguing matchup down the road could be against Croatian striking machine Mirko Cro Cop. Cro Cop has battled injuries over the past year or so but if he could come close to the form he demonstrated in winning the PRIDE Open Weight GP he could be another formidable challenge. At his best, Cro Cop is simply the most devastating striker in the sport. While the UFC is likely to set up ‘favorable’ matchups for Lesnar in the near term to allow them to take advantage of his PPV popularity, he’ll have his hands full defending his UFC heavyweight title.

In the ‘real world’ time heals all wounds. In the fight game, money has the same curative effect. This was vividly illustrated with the recent announcement that Tito Ortiz has patched things up with Dana White and will return to the UFC. Tito left the promotion over a year ago after a highly publicized split with the UFC president.

Ortiz has had several run ins with the UFC over their notoriously tight pay structure, and first left the promotion in 2005. He was back later that year for a run as a coach on The Ultimate Fighter against longtime rival Ken Shamrock. After losing to current light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida in his last UFC appearance, he left the company and bounced around in a promotional capacity. He had surgery on his back in the process, and now claims that hes back to 100%.

Whether or not Ortiz is near his top form as a competitor is of secondary importance to the UFC since his true value has never been questioned”people will pay to see him fight. Ortiz is a fighter that offers no middle ground of public opinion, as people either love him or hate him. That dynamic is box office and PPV gold, a fact not lost on the savvy UFC brass. Dana White evoked the same theme in his comments on Ortiz at a Friday press conference in Las Vegas:

“Tito and I have a history that everyone knows. He’s still a guy that everyone wants to see fight. He said his back has healed perfectly and he’s ready to take a shot at the title. He’s one of those guys that people love and people love to hate. We’ve put all our differences aside, have squashed everything and will move forward, and Tito will retire in the UFC.”

To which Ortiz offered this response:

“Time really cures everything. Dana was a man of his word. Dana apologized to me. We’re like boyfriend and girlfriend.”

Ortiz said that Dana White and UFC co-owner Lorenzo Fertitta came to his home in Huntington Beach, California and made him the proverbial offer he couldnt refuse:

“I’m happy, I’m satisfied, You’ll never hear anything about money again.

Sources suggest that Ortiz could debut on the UFCs New Years card against Mark Coleman. Coleman is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Stephan Bonnar at UFC 100 in mid July.

Though he may be past his prime as a fighter, Tito Ortiz is a star. Some love him, some hate him but people pay to watch him fight. That dynamic is money in the bank to a fight promoter.

Many popular types of fighting these days require grappling gloves. Grappling is used to control and opponent in a fight instead of striking them. There are many moves that can be used to achieve this such as the choke hold. Some fighting that use grappling are judo and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Most are considered mixed wrestling or catch wrestling. If a fighter has a great pair of grappling gloves then they are more likely to have a great fight and have the advantage. They also protect the fighter’s hands and keep them safe. The hands are the most important thing in this type of fighting. You need to consider the following tips when looking for a great grappling glove.

For a more powerful punch, grappling gloves are protected with leather so the grip is stronger and better. This can help a fighter.

o These gloves have a lot of padding and with double stitching, the gloves help during training.

A long, velcro strap helps protect the wrist.

o Can help with positioning.

To help get a more dominant position, these gloves can help a lot.

Pinning down an opponent is much easier with better grappling gloves.

Takedowns are much easier with great gloves. Mounts, side control and clinch holds are also easier.

Grappling gloves have many advantages, , especially if they are made well and have better protection. With a good pair of grappling gloves your hands will be much safer and less prone to injuries. Your hands will be safer for fighting and training with better gloves. They are standard in jiu jitsu and mixed fighting sports. An opponent can be mounted easier with good grappling gloves. When doing take downs, throws, submission holds, strikes and knee strikes, a really good grappling glove can help. They can also help with better positioning. Positioning is one of the most important things in this type of fighting.

Grappling gloves come in closed palm design and open palm design. Closed palm design is better because it helps fingers not to slip out during a fight. It also will help if the wrist is supported by a thick, long strap. The wrist should also be taped up. This will help the wrist be more supported. The wrist strap should not slip off in a fight or it can be hurt badly. When buying a good grappling glove make sure it is closed palm design and also make sure that the wrist will have a lot of great support. With these tips you should gain more advantage in your fighting. Make sure you get a great grappling glove.

The deadliest weapon in all the martial arts world is…the towel. This weapon is so deadly it should be outlawed. In fact, anybody caught with a towel in hand should be arrested and thrown into the darkest prison!

When one considers the towel, one should consider the vast speed it moves at. The hand flicks, and the tip of the towel can exceed one hundred miles an hour! Thus, the tip of a speeding towel can split skin and create mighty welts!

If one dips the tip of a towel into water, it can become even more deadly. Dipping the tip into water can cause the towel to become even more cutting, and multiple greatly the pain inflicted. The integrity of the strike, you see, is multiplied greatly when the tip is dipped.

Another thing to consider, when considering the towel, is that it is easily hidden. In fact, it is hidden in plain sight! Who, on earth, is scared of a simple towel draped around the waist, eh?

The fact is, when wearing a towel is one of the time that you are most likely to be attacked. Muggers are going to feel pretty comfortable about attacking you when you have no visible sign of defense. Not having any means of defending yourself could be considered akin to asking for trouble!

If you have just been for a swim, or popped out of the shower, that is the time when you are most unarmed, and nobody is going to be scared of you. Being unarmed is the time when muggers are going to most eager to seek you out. That is the time when the big, bad mugger is going to want to attack you!

If you are wearing nothing a towel, and you are attacked, you dont need to look around for some means to defend yourself. All you have to give a severe jolt to the attacker is drop your towel! Then you start dancing around, snapping and flicking with great abandon, and your attacker will shortly be running, screaming, down the street!

You think this article is a joke? Consider that Miyamoto Musashi, the greatest swordsman that ever lived, was once accosted in a bathhouse by a dozen sword wielding attackers. Using only his towel, and his, uh, natural talents, he chased the swordsmen from the bathhouse and down the street!

by Al Case

Bam, wham and slam! You find yourself thrown to the ground! You have just received the beating of your life!

After you heal, you explore the martial arts. But they are so expensive, and people want to put you on expensive contracts, and it takes years to earn a black belt. Well, it used to take years to earn a black belt, unless you know about Matrix Karate.[l:3:J]

Matrixing is a new science that deals with the analysis and handling of force and flow. Using Matrix Karate one can learn the art of Karate within a few months. Were talking months here, not years or dcades!

A couple of analogies must be made if you are to understand how Matrixing works. The first analogy is that of a computer to the mind. Along with that, you have to understand an insidious little thing called fragmentation.

I dont intend to take you on a long trip here, but to understand fragmentation you have to analogize the mind to a library. Information is stored in the mind like books on the shelves of a library. Solving a problem can be related to finding a book on a shelf in that library of your mind.

Looking for a book, you take a trip to the card index to find where in the library the book you want is. Then you take a trip down the rows of shelves to find that book. Finally, you bring the book out of the library and use it.

When fragmentation has occurred there are all sorts of gaps on the shelves, and the books are all mixed up. The filing system, of course, is not going to work. No matter how much information there, you cant access it.

The martial arts are taught in one of the most haphazard fashions imaginable. They are groupings of techniques from different cultures, taken from different countries, slanted by the interests of those who taught them, and so on. Everybody who has ever engaged in the teaching of the martial arts has altered them for their purposes, and they are a terrible mess.

When one has studied Matrixing, however, as in Matrix Karate, one can unmess the mess. Matrixing puts all of your techniques into an order that intuitive and easy to access. Once you are Matrixed, I pity the thug who comes at you!

Brazilian Jujitsu, also referred to as BJJ, is gaining a lot of traction in North America, the UK, and Australia as both a combat sport and an effective martial art for self-defense. This rapid increase in popularity is thanks to several factors, but the primary reason is because it was, and continues to be used with terrific results in mixed martial arts (MMA) organizations like the UFC.

BJJ is unique in the martial arts realm in that practitioners can attack from what would normally be considered a defensive position and vice versa. This leads many spectators to assume that a BJJ practitioner is in danger when he’s actually on the attack.

The fundamental principles of BJJ enable a small fighter to overpower a much larger practitioner by applying leverage, and using strong muscles (or multiple muscles) to attack weaker muscles or joints. Early vale tudo videos (Brazilian for “anything goes”) show many of these tactics in action.

BJJ practitioners can also end a fight with strikes, but these attacks are often opened when an opponent defends against traditional BJJ attacks, leaving himself vulnerable in the process; or directly through the use of BJJ attack techniques. BJJ attack techniques are engineered to render an opponent immobile or unconscious, or render his limbs unusable, thereby ending a fight.

The three primary categories of attack are:

1) Joint Locks: a fighter will isolate one of his opponent’s limbs or joints and use leverage to move the joint beyond its intended range of motion. Examples include Americana, arm bars, Kimura, knee bars.

2) Chokes: the word “chokes” is often used interchangeably with “strangles,” but the two are very distinct, thought they both focus on the neck. A choke occurs when a practitioners attacks the windpipe of his opponent to cut off or restrict air flow.

3) Strangles: with a strangle, a practitioner attempts to cut off the blood supply to the brain by constricting the carotid arteries. Strangles are most common when fighters are wearing gis (rear naked choke being a large exception), which are the traditional training and sparring uniform. You can view BJJ gi videos to see these tactics in action.

BJJ is a fascinating martial art. It takes years or even decades to rank, but even inexperienced BJJ practitioners fare very well against expert practitioners from other arts like karate or tae kwon do. There are many vs videos available which demonstrate one art vs another. These videos will provide a glimpse into why BJJ is so effective for self defense.

The Bujinkan is a new martial arts organization established by Masaaki Hatsumi Soke, the Founder, in the last 30 years. Translated, Bujinkan means “Hall of the Divine Warrior.” Hatsumi Soke gave it this name to honour his teacher, Takamatsu Toshitsugu, was the first person to receive the title Soke in all of the nine Ryu of Bujinkan and which have histories dating from the eighth century. The teachings of these schools have been handed down in direct teacher/disciple relationships throughout a lineage of some two hundred and one Soke.

In brief, Bujutsu refers to the classical martial arts/systems (pre-1600′s), while Ninjutsu is a section within Bujutsu. To think of Ninjutsu as being something outside of Bujutsu is incorrect, as is thinking of the Bujinkan Dojo as teaching only Ninjutsu.

Masaaki Hatsumi received the teachings of the nine schools of the Bujinkan from Takamatsu Toshitsugu. Takamatsu Sensei received these teachings from three sources: Toda Shinryuken, Ishitani Matsutaro, and Mizuta Yoshitaro. A brief description of each school is essential to an understanding of the Bujinkan as a whole.

Unlike other forms of martial training such as Karate, Judo, Kendo, Taekwondo etc., those of the Bujinkan were formed as far back at 1603 on the battlefields of Japan by the Takugawa Shogunate. 250 years of peace followed these battles and as warriors found their skills were no longer required, they started following more humanitarian path. The arts founded during this time of peace held perfection of character more important that effective combat skills.

However in the Bujinkan, combat effectiveness was still held as the highest priority and it’s techniques were not diluted to comply to safety. The techniques in the Bujinkan are studied for real life situations – there is no tournament competition. Training is usually carried out with a partner. Each taking turns of the role of uke (the receiver). Once the instructor has demonstrated a basic technique, the students pair up and attempt the technique. The students will then be shown numerious variations (henka) of the basic technique.

It is this limitless world of variations that the student is expected to enter so that he can spontaneously create a technique from nothing should the need arise, as real-life situations rarely play themselves out as a kata shown in class.

In the Bujinkan it is stressed that you should train with a happy heart. Shortly before his death Takamatsu told Hatsumi sensei how important it is:

The way to experience happiness is to let go of all worries and regrets and know that being happy is the most satisfying of life’s feelings. Reflect back on all the progress in your life and allow the positive, creative, and joyous thoughts to outshine and overwhelm any sorrow or grief. Happiness is waiting there in front of you. Only you can decide whether or not you choose to experience it.
